The first time I slept on the floor I woke up with morning muscle aches and pains that half as severe and half as long (about 2 hours not 4 as before). Since then I've never returned to a mattress. I'm not entirely sure why (might be similar to why running in shoes lead to much more injury than barefoot - because mattresses are a very new invention?). I feel as though my body gets a gentle massage due to the hardness of the surface. I'd be curious to see if others also experience a reduction in pain.
