Through meditation and mindfulness Buddhism helps us to become more aware of how our mind attaches to certain ideas about ourselves and others which may not be correct. The problem is that instead of using our mind as a tool, we allow it to govern everything. The idea is to try and control this 'monkey mind' and find peace.
