Hey
« on: July 16, 2018, 02:58:34 PM »

Hey, my name is Tom. I joined because, well long story shorter, I was diagnosed with M.E when I was 12, in the 17 years since for most of it I didn't really talk about it all. Then last year I wanted to raise awareness of M.E, so wrote and directed a fictional version of my story. It's called M.E, Myself and I. Maybe some of you have seen it online, but I won't link it here because I don't want to break forum rules in my first post hahaha. But anyway, I am writing the 2nd episode and I realised there are many gaps in my memory around that time of trying to get diagnosed, so thought I would chat to some people who have gone through it all too, and maybe that might jog my memory and also give me chance to talk through it all.

Hi Tom, and welcome. At this stage, you're right not to post the link, but when we've got to know you a bit better, we can think again as long as there's no sales pitch involving the exchange of money involved. I hope that's okay with you.

Best wishes.

Rager.

Yeah sure thats absolutely fine, I presumed so anyway, and there won't be, its a free film I just did to speak about my experiences and raise awareness. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for understanding, Tom - we do have to be very careful based on previous bad experience.

Hello Tom

Hope you are having a good day.  As for memory, i have spent the entire morning looking for my driving licence as i have completely forgot where i put it, and i have come to the conclusion it is lost!! i have ordered a new one, my memory is very poor!! I do remember that getting diagnosed was very hard because i also suffer with severe recurrent depression and it was easier for the docs to blame the symptoms on that, but i knew what i was feeling was different to the fatigue i experience with my depression, so i kept going back until the doctor agreed to refer me to a specialist, i think to get rid of me!  Not sure what would be helpful to you but ask if there is anything else you would like to know and if i can remember (haha) i will share with you.
